How to post advertisements on our Classifieds?
Recently we had a comment asking us how he could post advertisements on our classifieds. I find it weird because the “Post an Ad” button is quite obvious on the top right of the page. In fact, it is on all our page including this blog post. The bright orange colour button will bring you to a page where you choose the category and sub category you wish to post your advertisements. Click “Go” after that and it will allow you to put more information like Title, Price, Description, Location, Upload Pictures and many more options.
As summary to post an advertisements here on Syiok.com you do:-
- Click “Post an Ad” on top right
- Choose Category
- Fill up Descriptions
- Confirm Preview
- Wait for approval
Classified Ads
Classified ads are great ways for buyer to browse through ads by category and area. As for seller, it is cost effective, in fact, posting at our classified will only cost you time and no money at all.
You ads are exposed to our loyal visitors, search engines, and also could be shared via social media. We are manually moderating ads, therefore, spam will be greatly reduced to almost nothing.

Syiok.com new name
I am thinking of changing the domain name for syiok.com as you can see that this Classifieds is not picking up as per some of those big boys Classifieds in Malaysia. Although it was one of the first created classifieds in Malaysia, year 2004, and it is created for fun as ‘Syiok’ was one of the word much used on Internet that is also mainly used in our Malaysia society.
But I am thinking of changing the domain name to something more related to Classifieds, Advertisements, Buying and Selling, or Housing that relate more to what I do here in my website.
If you have any idea, feel free to suggest me a name.
Facebook Connect
We have updated with some new feature but the main difference is the new Facebook Connect whereby you could now connect and post ads on our classifieds with your Facebook Account. There is no need for your to perform registration. But at the same time, we have removed the “no registration” features as it is causing a lot of unwanted advertisements on your website.
Notice that we re-arrange the categories into a drop down so that it could be easily viewed. Let us know what you think about our new features.
Our Feedburner Feeds is Officially Up
The Feeds for Syiok.com’s is now officially transfered from our previous website. Keep it at your feed reader if you are interested to keep up with all the ads that is posted at our classifieds.

We are now SPAM Free
This is what our main goal to move to this new platform. A SPAM Free Malaysia Classifieds Ads website. I do understand that many companies have come out with classifieds website for Malaysia, and they have huge budget and financial backing to employ staff and to prevent advertisements that are unappropriated to be displayed. So now I have to work harder to moderate and post up the ads that are valid.
Also with the help of my trusty Nokia E92 and iPad2, I am able to approve ads on the go even on weekends. 
We are going to be ready in 1 or 2 days
Syiok.com 3.0 will be launching in 1 or 2 days. The previous classifieds will still be available for browsing old ads but this will be the new Malaysia Classifieds. It has change a lot as the whole platform is now changed and we use a totatly different script that allows us to be more dynamic to sustain future website growth.
New function will be available at Syiok.com:-
- No Registration Posting (Ads will not be deleted)
- SEO Friendly Page
- Browse by Location
- Registered user allow to upload photos
